Our team is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) who will primarily focus on identifying and attracting early top talent. In this role, you will manage full-cycle campus recruitment, build strong partnerships with our university partners, and help develop a strong pipeline of future talent for Seaspan. This person will focus primarily on high-volume campus recruitment while also supporting the rest of the TA team with internal/external recruitment, as needed.
Note: This position qualifies as an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding, subject to the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
- Support campus attraction strategies for Seaspan Shipyards and Marine Transportation by working with business leaders and university organizations to improve brand recognition on campus.
- Lead Seaspan's Internship program, oversee full-cycle recruitment, and work with Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) and Hiring Managers to set hiring timelines, ensuring a smooth recruitment process.
- Lead the full cycle recruitment process for Seaspan's New Graduate Rotational Programs, covering job postings, screening, interviews, offer extensions, and onboarding using our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC).
- Manage the intern requisitions for each intake and generate campus recruitment reports.
- Coordinate and conduct campus engagement activities virtually, on campus, and in-office year-round.
- Promote diversity and inclusion by collaborating with HRBPs to train managers in fair hiring.
- Stay current with campus trends by maintaining industry networks, attending events, and enhancing processes.
- Coordinate with campus career centers and external groups to share Seaspan's hiring needs and handle logistics for info sessions, recruitment events, interviews, and activities. Ensure internal reps attend and represent the brand effectively.
- Manage the Seaspan Alumni Group via LinkedIn and work closely with the TA team to post entry-level roles, building a talent pipeline for future hiring.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for all incoming campus hires and support day one orientation.
- Initiate new-hire workflows and facilitate internal promotions, transfers, and conversions.
- Assist in executing the TA transformation project and process improvements to automate tasks, improve HR processes, and optimize digital HR tools.
What you'll bring
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in full-cycle campus recruitment or recruiting for early-career roles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing needs.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently in a result-oriented manner.
- Creative sourcing strategies to identify top campus talent.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are needed to engage and influence diverse audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak intern recruitment seasons.
- Confident public speaking abilities for campus events and career fairs.
- Ability to create or contribute to campus-focused content (social media posting, presentations, event materials, etc.)
- Experience using ATS systems, Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Previous experience with social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Consistently show strong attention to detail and accuracy.

The estimated salary for this position is $73,800 - $90,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

This position may involve defense articles and/or technical data regulated by the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and the U.S. Arms Export Control Act.
