Banyan Software is seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Toronto headquarters and North American operations, while partnering with Operating Partners and portfolio company leaders across the region.
Reporting to the Vice President of People, the HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and plays a critical role in delivering HR solutions that drive business performance, employee engagement, and scalable growth. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, broad HR expertise, and experience supporting leaders in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders across Banyan Headquarters and North American Operating Companies to deliver strategic HR support aligned with business strategy and organizational goals.
- Translate business priorities into actionable HR initiatives impacting workforce planning, organizational design, talent development, and succession planning.
- Serve as a credible and trusted advisor on all HR matters, including employee relations, organizational effectiveness, leadership coaching, and cultural alignment.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to develop data-driven insights and solutions that drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive, inclusive work culture by leading initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall employee experience.
- Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with North American employment laws, internal policies, and Banyan values.
- Support the full talent lifecycle, including performance feedback, coaching, and development planning.
- Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to ensure competitive, equitable compensation and benefits practices across North America.
- Support M&A activity within the region, including HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration efforts such as change management, organizational design, and communications planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulatory requirements in partnership with legal and compliance teams.
- Mitigate HR-related risks and uphold high standards of data privacy, confidentiality, and governance.
- Actively contribute to HR projects and the ongoing evolution of HR practices, tools, and systems, with a focus on scalability and operational excellence.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 7 years in a Human Resources Business Partner or equivalent strategic role, preferably within a multi-entity, shared services, or high-growth environment.
- Professional HR certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
- Broad and deep knowledge of HR disciplines, including compensation, talent management, organizational development, employee relations, and employment law.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across multiple HR functions.
- Proven success navigating complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, and influence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Deep understanding of confidentiality, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance in an HR context.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and familiarity with HRIS and talent management systems.
The expected base salary for this position is: $130,000 - $175,000 CAD and includes annual bonus and equity. Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
