The City of Beaumont is seeking an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills for the role of Youth Worker at the Chantal Berube Youth Centre (CBYC). This is a casual position with approximately 5-15 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
What YOU'RE Responsible for:
- Assist in facilitation and engagement of youth centre programs and drop-in activities that promote personal growth and community connection
- Provide additional support and guidance to youth attendees, fostering meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging
- Utilize a strengths-based approach to empower youth and encourage their development
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment within the youth centre facility, ensuring a welcoming space for all participants
- Ensure adherence to Legislative regulations, Safety Directives and procedures and all respectful workplace standards
- Open and prepare the facility for community rentals as needed, will include evenings and weekends
- Report unsafe conditions and near miss incidents promptly
- Attend regular safety meetings as required and promote a positive attitude
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12)
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, motivation, and a positive attitude towards youth engagement
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR (must be maintained)
- A clear Intervention Record Check (issued within the past three months)
- An hourly rate of $18.68 per hour
- Membership to the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre
- Access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program
