Purpose
As part of National Logistics Services' ongoing growth and expansion, a newly built, state-of-the-art, highly automated facility in the Town of Caledon will open in March 2026. This facility is equipped with leading-edge technology to elevate the fulfillment and distribution capabilities for our existing and future clients.
To reinforce and enhance the capacity of our existing Engineering and Operations teams during this major expansion, NLS is looking for an experienced Engineering Implementation Manager. This individual will support and strengthen the execution of the transition plans, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of client operations into the new facility.
The roles focus on executing a defined plan, coordinating cross-functional activities, supporting operational readiness, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the engineering lead for transitioning key clients into the newly built automated Caledon facility
  • Enhance existing transition plans with best practices and experience
  • Lead, with additional Engineering Team support, the operational and Client review of current process flows ensuring all aspects of the existing operation fit within the new, automated facility process flows
  • Apply transition plans to create and communicate the move plan with all stakeholders
  • Guide the movement of client inventory from the existing facilities to align with storage configurations and layout requirements in the new building
  • Follow and apply existing SOPs, process maps, and workflow documentation to execute the transition consistently and accurately
  • Set up and coordinate regular reviews with functional team leaders, vendors, and Clients to assess and manage deliverables
  • Support the operation through the initial stabilization period following each client's move
  • Monitor and report on performance, readiness indicators, and transition milestones
  • Manage project budgets, reporting cadence, and alignment with broader expansion milestones
  • Prepare and present steering committee updates on progress made on deliverables
  • Provide a structured and well-documented handoff to Operations once stability is achieved
  • Drive disciplined project execution based on established plans and timelines
  • Highlight and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications across Engineering, Operations, Client Solutions, and Facilities
  • Support decommissioning work at existing facilities by coordinating with external service partners
  • Activities may include equipment relocation, asset disposition, and space restoration, completed by third-party vendors
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience. P. Eng is an asset.
  • PMP certification or comparable experience.
  • Strong project management capabilities, particularly in the execution phase of large operational projects.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral is required.
  • Experience supporting facility startups, operational relocations, or large-scale client transitions.
  • 3PL Background would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of facility layouts, inventory flow, material handling equipment, and automated warehouse systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to read, comprehend, and apply established SOPs and process maps with precision, as well as create additional SOPs when required.
  • Experience managing timelines, budgets, Smartsheet or something similar, communication plans, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Proven success leading teams through significant operational changes or expansions.
  • Work experience in Canada flexibility to work in the U.S. is an asset
Additional Details
  • Term: 6 months, with potential extensions.
  • Location: 75% on-site (Caledon and existing facilities) and 25% remote.
  • Travel: Travel between NLS sites located within GTA will be required.

Salary Range: $80,000–$115,000 a year / The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
