Job Title: Clinical Talent & Care Coordinator

Reports To: Care Manager
Location: Edmonton (In-Office and Hybrid Remote + Field Travel)
Schedule: Full-Time (4-Day Work Week + On-Call Rotation)

Role Overview

We are looking for a unique healthcare professional who wants to build and lead a world-class care team. As the Clinical Talent & Care Coordinator , you are the "Gatekeeper of Quality." You will lead our recruitment efforts—using your clinical background to vet candidates for competency—while supporting daily operations.

Crucially, you act as our Field Coach: you don't just hire staff; you ensure they are trained, accredited, and confident to work in client homes.

The Focus: 50% Recruitment & Culture, 30% Operations/Scheduling, 20% Clinical Support & Education.

Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & People Culture (50%)
  • Clinical Recruitment: Manage full-cycle recruitment for HCAs, LPNs, and RNs. Use your nursing background to pre-screen candidates for technical skills (transfers, meds, vitals) ensuring we only hire the best.

  • Onboarding & "First Day" Success: Own the orientation process. You ensure every new hire is safety-trained, understands our culture, and feels supported from Day 1.

  • Employee Engagement: Be the primary point of contact for staff. You handle recognition programs, morale initiatives, and retention strategies to keep our workforce stable.

  • Conflict Resolution & EQ: Act as the bridge between employee needs and client expectations. You will navigate difficult conversations with high emotional intelligence to maintain high satisfaction on both sides.

2. Operations & Scheduling (30%)
  • Strategic Matchmaking: You won't just fill holes in a calendar. You will use your clinical judgment to match the right caregiver's personality and skill level to the specific health needs and preferences of our clients to ensure long-term stability.

  • Systems Management (Tech-Forward): Act as our "Super-User" for AlayaCare. You are responsible for maintaining clean data, tracking employee certification expiry dates, and optimizing travel routes for field staff to improve efficiency.

  • Process Efficiency: Work with the Care Manager and Operations Coordinator to streamline our intake and scheduling workflows.

3. Clinical Support, Education & On-Call (20%)
  • Field Leadership: Lead from the front by conducting "Competency Sign-offs" in the field. You aren't just an office administrator; you are a mentor who ensures our HCAs feel safe, supported, and technically proficient while working independently in client homes.

  • Accreditation & In-Services: Organize and deliver the mandatory annual training (Infection Control, OH&S) required for Accreditation. You ensure the team is compliant and audit-ready.

  • Clinical Backup & On-Call: Participate in the leadership on-call rotation. Be willing to step in and provide direct client care or assessments during critical shortages.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Education: Active registration as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or RN preferred. (Experienced HCAs with strong leadership/admin backgrounds will be considered).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years in Home Care, Senior Living or similar Health Care field.

    • Experience in recruitment, scheduling, or team leadership.

    • Comfortable training others: You must be comfortable leading a group in-service or teaching a skill one-on-one.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Google Workspace and scheduling software (AlayaCare is an asset).

  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (required for field visits). From time-to-time, you may travel to our locations in Alberta (e.g. Calgary, Red Deer).

Benefits Why This Role?
  • Work-Life Integration: This position starts with a coveted 4-day work week to ensure a high-quality work-life balance. This schedule is tied to current operational needs and is designed to scale up to a 5-day work week as the company and role responsibilities expand. We believe that by giving our leadership team a better balance, they provide better care to our staff and clients.
  • Growth: You are joining a lean, fast-moving team where your input directly shapes the company.
  • Impact: You are building the workforce that cares for our community's most vulnerable.
  • Invested in You: Health and dental benefits to support your well-being.
  • Focus on Health: Paid Sick Leave and access to our Employee Assistance Program (EPA) , ensuring you and your family have support both inside and outside of work.
