Mahler is a high-growth and leading manufacturing partner for OEMs throughout British Columbia, the US, and across Canada. As our team continues to grow, we are looking for an Inside Sales / Estimator to join our sales team to support our quoting, estimating, and customer communication activities. This role is well-suited to a detail-oriented and technically curious individual who is eager to deepen their understanding of how parts move from customer drawings to finished components on the production floor, or who already brings that knowledge and is looking to apply it in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.   We do not require any specific experience other than a demonstrated passion for manufacturing, aptitude for technical skills, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment. As a high-growth organization, we want team members who act like owners and want to grow professionally with a collaborative and supportive team.   Position Summary: The Inside Sales / Estimator will support the estimating and quoting process while acting as a key point of contact for customers on routine quote and order-related inquiries. There is significant potential for upward progression as our business continues to grow and expand.   Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage customer RFQs, ensuring drawings, specifications, quantities, and revisions are complete
  • Set up quotes and estimates in our ERP (ProShop), including individual parts and assemblies
  • Review client drawings to identify specific requirements (material, tolerances, finishes, inspection needs, and special manufacturing processes)
  • Determine appropriate manufacturing approach (in-house, outsourced services, or a combination)
  • Work with our material and subcontracted vendors to devise component pricing
  • Coordinate with Production to obtain manufacturing time and process estimates
  • Compile completed quotes for internal review and approval prior to customer submission
  • Develop into a strategic view of pricing strategy and price points across our clients
  • Submission and management of client quotes, feedback, and developing insight into order patterns
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client questions related to pricing, lead times, and order status
  • Navigate ProShop and QuickBooks to retrieve job, quote, pricing, and order information
  • Support order processing activities: PO creation, order acknowledgments, and delivery updates
  • Assist with drawing clarifications, tolerance questions, and discrepancy resolution both internally and externally with our clients
  • Support non-conformance communication, RMAs, short shipments, and rework/replacement
  • Maintain accurate records, organized documentation, and proper revision control across all systems
  • Review job profitability and investigate why margins would have deviated from original estimates
Desired Background & Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education required with any of the following as highly relevant: Engineering, manufacturing, machining, drafting, trades, or a technical discipline
  • Shop or machining experience is an asset, but not required
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and extract key information (materials, tolerances, finishes)
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working in ERP systems (ProShop experience is an asset)
  • Demonstrated passion for manufacturing either professionally or personally
  • Experience working with internal teams and external customers or vendors
  • Computer literate with proficiency inthe  Microsoft suite, including Excel
