We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our growing logistics team in Houston, Texas! In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse facility. This includes operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are crucial for maintaining smooth operations and preventing damage to goods. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate is reliable, possesses strong operational skills, and has a keen awareness of safety protocols within a busy warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and stack materials properly to ensure stability and safety.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and tracking.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Follow all procedures to ensure the integrity of goods.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient workflow.
- Perform other material handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Experience with lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following safety guidelines.
- Familiarity with general logistics operations.
This position requires physical capability and a strong focus on safety, including proper lifting techniques and mandatory use of PPE. Your role is essential to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations.
