We are looking for a skilled and experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. This pivotal role ensures the smooth flow of goods into and out of our facility, managing both incoming shipments and outgoing orders. You will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, stocking, and preparing goods for shipment, all while maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to strict safety standards. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics operations, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies.
- Stock received materials in designated warehouse locations efficiently.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for outbound shipment according to specifications.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery of goods.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant software.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of logistics procedures and inventory control.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
This role is essential to our logistics operations, requiring a proactive approach to both receiving and shipping processes.
