Data Analytics Intern

Santa Clara, CA. The Intern term is from June to August, 2026. Full time requirement (40 hours per week). Purpose:
Data Platform and Business Intelligence team at Shockwave Medical specializes in helping our users leverage data-driven insights to enhance decision-making processes and drive business growth. As part of our commitment to fostering talent and innovation, we are seeking a passionate and motivated Data Analytics Intern to join our team. You will be responsible:
Work closely with Data Platform team to gather, clean, and analyze data from various sources. Assist in the development and maintenance of BI reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Write SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, manipulate, and transform data for reporting and analysis purposes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and deliver actionable insights. Support the implementation of data quality checks and ensure data integrity across different systems. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in BI, SQL, and data analytics. Qualifications / Requirements:
Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework. Proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on experience writing complex queries, and Python programming related to data engineering. Familiarity with Business Intelligence concepts and tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights. Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with team members. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines. Prior internship or coursework related to data analytics, BI, or SQL is a plus. Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship. The expected pay range for this position is between $26.50 per hour and $59.00 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
