Responsibilities:
- Locate and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves and storage areas using order pick lists or scanning devices.
- Verify product accuracy against order details to minimize errors.
- Operate order picking equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks (forklift certification may be required).
- Package picked items securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping stations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Participate in inventory management tasks, including stock checks and cycle counts.
- Communicate any picking discrepancies or issues to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as directed by management to support overall logistics.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform regular lifting of up to 45 pounds.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and basic understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with safe operating procedures for warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to maintain accuracy.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the critical importance of PPE.
- Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this logistics role.
Working Conditions:
This job requires significant physical exertion, including frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Employees must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment which may experience fluctuations in temperature. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the consistent wearing of required PPE, is mandatory for a safe and productive workday.
