Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, well-prepared, and dispatched in a timely manner. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, verifying order details, and preparing documentation. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of picked orders against shipping documents.
- Prepare shipping labels and necessary documentation for all outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Package orders securely and appropriately for transit.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas, adhering to all Safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Use and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as required.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is required. Must be comfortable with moderate Lifting of up to 40 lbs. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Familiarity with shipping software and warehouse management systems is highly desirable. A strong commitment to Safety and adherence to procedures is mandatory. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and problem-solving skills are important.
