We are looking for a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our distribution center in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials within the warehouse, ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout our logistics operations. You will operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store materials. A strong focus on safety and efficiency is essential for success in this position. You will work collaboratively with other team members to maintain an organized and productive work environment. Your contributions will be key to our overall operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for damages or discrepancies.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including packaging and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of required PPE.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material flow and any potential issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices in logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional overtime.
- Must be able to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and hazard-free workplace.
