Our busy warehouse in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support our logistics operations. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes operating equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified), loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored in the correct locations. Your role is crucial in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse flow, contributing to timely order fulfillment and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is physically fit, possesses a strong work ethic, and understands the importance of Safety in a warehouse environment. We are committed to providing a safe workplace and require all employees to follow all safety procedures and wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting and moving of materials. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated storage areas.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety regulations and procedures.
- Properly wear and use required PPE at all times.
- Participate in routine inventory counts.
- Perform tasks requiring frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain management of the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy Lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse equipment operation (pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE.
