We are looking for a skilled and certified Reach Truck Operator to join our logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is integral to the efficient movement and storage of goods in our high-volume warehouse. You will be responsible for operating a reach truck to put away and retrieve inventory from racking systems, ensuring accuracy and minimizing damage. The ideal candidate possesses strong maneuvering skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to workplace safety . Experience with high-reach equipment and a valid certification are essential. You will play a key part in maintaining organized inventory levels and supporting overall warehouse operations. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all operators to adhere strictly to our company's safety protocols and the mandatory use of PPE .
Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials from high racking systems.
- Accurately place inventory in designated locations and retrieve items for orders.
- Perform daily inspections of the reach truck and other equipment; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the racking system and warehouse aisles.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as required.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage to products and equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Support other warehouse functions, including some manual lifting and loading/unloading tasks when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and current reach truck operator certification.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and racking systems.
- Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to wear and use required PPE .
