We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our San Diego, California warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This position is vital to our warehouse's efficiency and plays a key role in our overall logistics and supply chain management. You will ensure that materials are handled safely and efficiently, contributing to a productive and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent judgment and operational skills. A valid forklift certification is required. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety and expect all employees to adhere strictly to our policies, including the proper use of PPE .
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and loading docks are clear.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock placement.
- Adhere to all company safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Follow all handling procedures to prevent damage to merchandise and equipment.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Manage the efficient flow of goods through the warehouse, supporting our logistics needs.
- Must be able to perform manual tasks including some lifting when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to wear and use required PPE .
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
