Our Houston, Texas logistics center is seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to manage the accurate and timely dispatch of goods. If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working in a dynamic warehouse environment, this role is for you. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all outgoing orders meet our quality standards. Responsibilities:
- Generate and verify shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Confirm that all items are accurately packed and match order specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all shipments in the shipping log and WMS.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure packages are properly prepared, loaded, and secured for transport.
- Handle customer inquiries related to shipments.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
- Utilize required PPE to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with receiving operations during peak periods as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a logistics/warehouse role preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software, carrier portals, and MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
