Position Summary:

The Project Manager oversees the planning and delivery of civil construction projects, including water, sewer, and storm infrastructure, as well as roads and earthworks, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role coordinates teams, subcontractors, and resources; manages schedules, costs, and risks; and serves as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. The Project Manager upholds safety and quality standards, maintains accurate project documentation, and provides clear reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Estimate and manage civil projects (water, sewer, earthworks) from initiation through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and adjust plans as needed to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Team & Resource Management

  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
  • Mentor and develop project team members, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Ensure proper allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for project communications, providing timely updates and resolving issues proactively.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to management and clients.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a "safety-first" culture across the project team and subcontractors.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets project specifications.

Financial Oversight & Documentation

  • Track and control project costs, approving expenditures and managing change orders.
  • Maintain accurate, organized project documentation and records for reporting and audits.
  • Support invoicing and cash flow by ensuring timely submission of project-related documentation.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • E.T. certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Project Coordinator on civil or infrastructure projects (water, sewer, roads, earthworks).
  • Strong ability to review and interpret contracts, including identifying and tracking work outside of scope.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information and direct project teams.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills; able to multitask and perform under pressure.
