Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Intern Program. This exciting opportunity offers a paid, 10-week experience for selected senior or recently graduated students. The program will run from June 1 to August 7. Eligible students will be seniors or recent graduates, possess U.S. work authorization, and be able to work full-time on a 5-day-per-week on-site schedule. Additionally, participation in this program requires that you be located in the United States for the duration of the engagement. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged. The application window is open until March 15, 2026; however, it may close earlier if all available roles are filled. Applications submitted after the application window or once a role is closed/projects are full will not be considered. As a Machine Learning Intern in the Engineering Services (ES) Team, you will work under the coaching of Senior and Lead engineers to analyze Samsung's deployed network elements. You will utilize skills to query databases to extract data, use skills in Python or R to analyze data such that you can identify 4G/5G network infrastructure issues and build prediction models, ad-hoc tools, and dashboards to communicate your findings with your team and peers. Role and Responsibilities:
Recent graduate or 0-2 years of professional experience in Engineering, ability to work with large datasets using strong statistical methods Work closely with the internal and external stakeholders to define 4G/5G KPI measurement methodologies and targets (KPI, KQI) for 4G/5G RAN product acceptance. Work closely with stakeholders to help build products that help utilize large amount of structured & unstructured data in analyzing network performance Utilize A/B testing to build robust mechanism for product & feature performance analysis, for evaluation of new product & SW releases and 3rd party product evaluation Leverage machine learning and statistical methodologies to extract patterns and hidden knowledge from data. Communicate key findings to stakeholders using visualizations and/or other suitable methods Aid in product & feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product & SW releases and 3rd party product evaluation using analytics/data science to drive intelligent business decisions. Work with the team to proactively define and interpret data/metrics/KPIs, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends and opportunities for all the 4G/5G RAN products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate technical concepts, and complex in a easy-to-follow progression Adapt to changes in a dynamic business environment and, support management initiatives Skills and Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a MS/PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Science, Economics Programming experience: Python, Spark, R, SQL, Hive, JavaScript, Visual Basic, C++ Machine learning expertise: GLM Regression (Linear, Logit, Multinomial), Decision Tree (including Boosted Trees, Random Forest), kMeans/Hierarchical Clustering, Principle Component Analysis, Neural Network, Bayesian Regression, & Times Series Experience using data with high-volume (1TB+) & high-dimensionality (500+ variables per schema), especially within a Hadoop framework Experience with Data Wrangling, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Correlation Analysis, Statistical methodologies & significance testing, A/B testing. Strong interest in supporting consumer-facing functions for consumer products, retail, tech, or telecom industries Self-starter. Self-motivated. Wanting to learn. Can work alone, as well as being a member of a team. Result-Driven person Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to compile analysis output and findings into succinct story for technical and non-technical audiences. Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be skilled in developing and maintaining good working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal more than 75% of work time in an office work environment Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical and include time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and project management stress. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC's, printers, etc. most often associated with office work area equipment.
