Our Houston, Texas, logistics center is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support our warehouse operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement and organization of materials throughout the facility. You'll utilize various equipment and your physical capabilities to ensure materials are ready for their next step in the supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move, stack, and organize materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse.
- Perform inventory checks and assist with stock management.
- Ensure all materials are handled in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Regularly perform Lifting tasks, handling items up to 50 lbs.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet operational goals and ensure efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Certification or experience operating forklifts is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and Lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Familiarity with logistics processes is a plus.
