Our growing warehouse in Tampa, Florida, is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and transporting goods to and from storage areas. This role is critical for maintaining the flow of inventory and ensuring operational efficiency in our logistics hub. You will operate various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, adhering to strict safety protocols. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, certified on relevant equipment, and committed to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You must possess a keen awareness of your surroundings and a dedication to preventing accidents. Proper handling of materials and adherence to load limits are essential. This is a demanding but rewarding position for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced warehouse setting and understand the importance of safety in all operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory locations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper forklift operation and wear of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Keep the warehouse organized and free of obstructions.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
