Opportunity knocks in Portland, Oregon, for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our fast-paced logistics operations. This role is vital for ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately documented, inspected, and stored, forming the foundation of our inventory management system. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for the entire receiving process, from unloading trucks to data entry and quality checks. Accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards are paramount. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies. This position involves physical activity, including Lifting and moving packages, so a good level of fitness is required. We maintain a strong focus on workplace safety, and all employees are expected to diligently use their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety procedures. This is an excellent chance to become a key player in our supply chain and contribute to the efficient flow of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage, quality, and quantity discrepancies.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system promptly and accurately.
- Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
- Report any receiving discrepancies or damages to the supervisor immediately.
- Organize and stage incoming goods for distribution to internal departments or storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Comply with all safety regulations and use required PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar logistics-related role.
