We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Associate for our facility in Des Moines, Iowa. In this critical role, you will contribute to the seamless flow of goods through our distribution network. Your responsibilities will include receiving and processing incoming shipments, accurately picking and packing customer orders, preparing items for outbound transport, and maintaining inventory integrity. You will be an essential component of our logistics operations, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction. We maintain a rigorous focus on safety ; all employees must comply with established safety guidelines and utilize the correct PPE at all times. This position requires physical stamina, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and performing significant lifting . Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming merchandise.
- Accurately pick products for customer orders using scanning technology.
- Pack items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare shipments with appropriate labels and documentation.
- Stage orders for shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas.
- Participate in inventory control activities, including cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and protocols.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of assigned PPE .
- Handle tasks involving moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Solid understanding of warehouse logistics , inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including frequent lifting .
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE .
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
