We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming shipments. Your keen eye for detail and organizational skills will be crucial in verifying deliveries, inspecting goods, and accurately entering data into our inventory management system. This position is foundational to maintaining the integrity of our stock and ensuring a smooth flow of goods into our facility. Your contribution is vital to our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
- Inspect goods for any damage, discrepancies, or defects.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received products as required.
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution to appropriate areas.
- Maintain accurate receiving records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Perform moderate lifting, up to 40 lbs, when necessary, following safe lifting practices.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Ensure the receiving area is kept clean, orderly, and safe, supporting overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capability for lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of wearing PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is a plus.
