We are seeking a skilled and experienced Material Handler to join our large-scale logistics operation in Los Angeles, California. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our facility. Your duties will include operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that inventory is stored and organized correctly. A strong commitment to safety, precision, and understanding of supply chain dynamics is essential. This position is key to maintaining the smooth flow of goods in our busy distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to and from designated areas.
- Stack, sort, and arrange materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper storage.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring all movements are recorded correctly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Perform tasks requiring frequent lifting of materials, up to 50 lbs.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient logistics and production flow.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification or extensive experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, frequently handling items up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of inventory control systems and logistics processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
