Are you a meticulous individual with a passion for smooth operations? Our facility in Raleigh, North Carolina is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics department. The Shipping Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched on time. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders, ensuring correct quantities and product identification.
- Package items securely for shipment, selecting appropriate materials and methods to prevent damage.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified) safely.
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update inventory systems accordingly.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status and any discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including wearing required PPE, and follow proper lifting techniques.
- Assist with receiving and stocking incoming goods as needed.
- Contribute to a clean and organized shipping area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping software and common carrier systems.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and using appropriate PPE.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
