We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our bustling distribution center in New York City, New York. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, stacking, and organizing materials within our warehouse. Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, from receiving to dispatch. You will operate various types of forklifts, handle loading and unloading of trucks, and perform inventory checks. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues. This position demands precision, awareness of surroundings, and a commitment to following all operational and safety guidelines. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, possess excellent manual dexterity, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics setting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Stack and arrange inventory in designated storage areas.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory levels.
- Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as order picking and packing.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance forklift skills and Safety awareness.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Ability to perform required physical tasks, including occasional Lifting.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics principles.
- Strong commitment to Safety and proper handling of materials.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts if required.
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in wearing and utilizing required PPE.
