We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our Columbus, Ohio warehouse. This position is critical for the efficient movement of goods throughout our facility, supporting our extensive logistics operations. You will be responsible for safely and effectively operating forklifts to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. A commitment to safety and operational excellence is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and organize materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas, such as storage, staging, and shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for operation.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Support the overall logistics flow of the warehouse through efficient material handling.
- Engage in occasional lifting when required to supplement forklift operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to schedules.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics and inventory management principles is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
