Join our bustling warehouse operations in Detroit, Michigan, as a Picker/Packer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items from warehouse shelves and expertly packing them for shipment. Your attention to detail and efficiency are paramount to ensuring our customers receive their orders correctly and in excellent condition. This position is critical to our logistics chain, directly impacting customer satisfaction. We are looking for motivated individuals who can maintain high productivity standards while adhering to all safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Verify item numbers and quantities before packing.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and methods to ensure product safety during transit.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, preparing them for shipping.
- Label packages correctly with shipping information.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing station.
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Meet or exceed daily productivity targets for picking and packing.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience as a picker/packer or in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including lifting up to 40 lbs repetitively.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for the duration of the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety and logistics principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with safety gear and its importance.
