Our thriving logistics operation in Detroit, Michigan, is looking for a dedicated Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring timely and accurate shipment of products to our customers. This role involves coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping documentation, and maintaining a high level of organization within the shipping department. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Inspect outgoing orders for accuracy and damage before shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping dock.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of required PPE.
- Perform occasional lifting of packages up to 40 lbs.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or a related warehouse role.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform necessary lifting.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols in a warehouse setting.
