Develop and manage routing strategies with expertise in advanced BGP, OSPF, route policies, traffic engineering, multi-region high availability, and failover mechanisms.
Engage in thorough investigation of complex routing and connectivity incidents, focusing on issues like asymmetric routing, convergence, and loop prevention.
Lead governance of architectural designs: participate in design councils, conduct peer reviews, and enforce critical standards.
Create high-level and detailed design documentation, including topology maps and reusable templates.
Frame architectures that align with business objectives for growth, resiliency, disaster recovery, and cost efficiency. Explore and pilot new networking technologies such as SD-WAN, SASE, and network automation solutions.
Design with a strong emphasis on security principles, focusing on segmentation and zero-trust frameworks. Manage capacity planning and lifecycle strategies encompassing upgrades and decommissioning.
Mentor and support engineers, present designs to both technical and executive stakeholders, and incorporate feedback from various teams across the organization.
Articulate complex network architecture concepts clearly to both technical peers and business stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience 10+ years in networking, with several years focused on architecture.
Deep expertise in BGP (communities, policy, traffic engineering) and OSPF.
Demonstrated design experience with hybrid cloud interconnects such as ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, transit gateways, and vWAN.
In-depth knowledge of data center fabrics, including EVPN-VXLAN overlays.
Strong automation skills, particularly using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
Excellent documentation skills, capable of producing high-level designs, detailed documents, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
Familiarity with multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5).
Expertise in global-scale networking, including multi-region deployments and enterprise WAN.
Strong communication skills, able to advocate for design choices, facilitate discussions, and mentor peers effectively.
Preferred Qualifications CCIE (Enterprise, Datacenter) or equivalent expert-level certification is strongly preferred; advanced cloud networking certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, including QoS design and latency tuning.
Familiarity with cloud networking certifications (AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, GCP Network Engineer) beyond CCIE.
Experience with open-source networking tools and platforms (e.g., NetBox, FRRouting, SONiC).

based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience. For part-time roles, adjustments will be made accordingly. This position also has specific compensation ranges based on work location: California:
