SRG are working with a specialist manufacturer in the electroplating, surface finishing and precious metals industry in the West Midlands. Seeking a Technical Manager to start ASAP, offering £45,000-£60,000 salary plus bonus, to take on a hands‑on, influential role providing technical expertise to UK customers while supporting production, sales and quality through lab work, problem‑solving and process improvement. Technical Manager Contract: Permanent Start Date: ASAP Location: West Midlands Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum + bonus + 10% non-contributory pension scheme Industry: Electroplating / Surface Finishing / Precious Metals A great opportunity to step into a genuinely influential technical role with a specialist manufacturer who are investing heavily in their people, their technology and their future. SRG are supporting a well‑established specialist manufacturer in the metals industry as they look to continue their strong start to the year. They are now looking for a Technical Manager who can be the go-to technical expert for their UK customers. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of operations - ideal for someone who enjoys being in the lab, solving problems and building strong relationships with customers. You'll work closely with production, sales and quality teams, strengthening processes and ensuring customers get the highest standard of technical support. What you'll be doing: Technical & Laboratory Support Providing hands‑on technical expertise in the lab Troubleshooting electroplating and surface finishing processes Running trials, testing and product evaluations Driving process optimisation and continuous improvement Customer & Commercial Support Acting as the primary technical contact for UK customers Supporting customer sites to with process issues, improvements and training Partnering with sales teams on trials, meetings and new opportunities Building strong, long term customer relationships through technical credibility Operational & Site Support Working closely with site operations to keep daily activities running smoothly Supporting scale‑up of new processes and customer introductions Contributing to operational efficiency and best practice Leading audits, documentation and ensuring safe working practices Who we're looking for: A degree (or equivalent experience) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or similar Strong background in electroplating, surface finishing, wet chemical processes or related Someone who's comfortable getting hands‑on in the lab Confidence dealing directly with customers to provide technical support and expertise A practical, solutions‑focused mindset Experience in ISO‑regulated manufacturing SAP or ERP experience is a bonusIf you would like to apply for this position, please use the link provided.
