On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to act as a conduit between our business units, IT department and technology partners and vendors. The individual will plan, manage and lead the delivery of detailed business and system requirements that align to the organizations standards and frameworks. Relying on their solid skills and experience, they will work closely with ambitious and passionate business units and technology partners to deliver world class customer focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize and complete business analysis activities for either waterfall or agile projects.
- Identify SMEs and sources of information and be able to quickly digest information gathered.
- Identify and apply the appropriate elicitation techniques to facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholder groups.
- Translate needs into business requirements and technical specifications.
- Provide comprehensive analysis and actionable recommendations to resolve business and operational challenges.
- Work with and lead cross-functional teams to drive initiatives focusing on delivering improved business results and exceptional customer outcomes.
- Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates.
- Identify risks, assumptions, and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate stakeholders and partners.
- Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and provide resolution through analysis to make strategic and/or tactical recommendations.
- Drive both business and systems requirements through discovery, analysis, and validation.
- Provide input into project planning, sprint planning, sprint review, grooming or product backlog review, test cases preparation, and retrospectives.
- Maintain repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives, following the organization's standards.
- Provide business analysis expertise to identify, plan and execute key business improvements to automate processes, drive strategic transformational change and enhance the customer experience.
- Analyze and assess potential system enhancements and put together robust business requirements identifying required changes, desired outcomes and potential benefits.
- Experience dealing with 3 rd parties and vendors
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years business analysis experience.
- Post-secondary degree.
- Previous financial services or banking experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical ability, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to learn fast and highly motivated.
- Strong interpersonal skills, results oriented.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, process roadblocks and develop effective solutions.
Top Skills Necessary
- Business Analysis
- 5+ years of experience facilitating collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholder groups to drive both business and systems requirements discovery, analysis, and review.
- Technical Analysis
- 5+ years of experience creating system models, technical specifications (from functional requirements), grooming stories, diagrams and charts to provide direction to development teams.
- Banking or Financial Services experience
- 3+ years of BSA, Product Owner or Business Analyst experience in a banking or financial services environment to plan, design, develop, and deploy functionality and enhancements to banking products (payment processing, debit or credit card services, deposits, account openings, account management, transaction accounts, loans or mortgages).
