Job Description IT Infrastructure Engineer Onsite - Birmingham Role Purpose To manage, maintain, and support the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure operation of servers, networks, cloud services, workstations, and related systems. The role provides second and third-line technical support to employee. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across company devices and applications, and contributes to infrastructure improvements to maintain operational stability, security, and efficiency. Success: Celebrating achievements and fostering a culture of innovation and growth.  Criteria Key Responsibilities Administer identity management in Active Directory and Entra, including fault resolution and routine maintenance. Support teams across the business with administrative tasks in Azure which include permissions and VM        management. Configure and manage the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Collaborate with various departments to maintain and configure specific business applications as needed. Assist employees with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of company-issued hardware and    software. Track incidents and changes within the helpdesk system ensuring timely resolution. Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues with hardware and software. Manage and support the IT infrastructure at our Birmingham Office.  Also support occasionally required for locations across the Midlands, Milton Keynes and London  Manage and maintain all company mobile devices which include iOS and Android. Administer the Microsoft Teams PSTN phone system, including configuration and fault resolution. Oversee and support data backup solutions. Create and maintain clear, comprehensive IT documentation for systems  Skill and Experience  A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an IT infrastructure or similar role. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Strong experience maintaining and troubleshooting various hardware platforms, particularly laptops and mobile devices. Expertise in Microsoft Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 operating systems. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration. Proven experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID administration. Practical knowledge of disaster recovery planning and execution. A strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, Firewalls, NAT, and VPNs. Experience with PSTN phone systems and solutions. Familiarity with software licensing and supplier management.  Desirable Skills Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to complex technical challenges. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues. Strategic thinking with the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.
