We are seeking a reliable and efficient Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments from our Dallas, Texas facility. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in coordinating the timely and accurate dispatch of goods, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company standards. This role is essential to our logistics network, ensuring products reach our customers in perfect condition and on schedule. You will interface with carriers, prepare shipping documentation, and manage shipment tracking. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A keen understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to safety are crucial. You will be responsible for verifying shipment details, ensuring proper labeling, and coordinating with the warehouse team to stage outgoing freight. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outbound shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify shipping information and ensure accurate labeling of all packages.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for completeness and accuracy.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and dock levelers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping dock area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required PPE.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and external partners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and PPE usage.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
