We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently fulfilling customer orders, ensuring timely dispatch of goods. This role is crucial to our supply chain operations, maintaining the flow of inventory from receipt to shipment. You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, utilizing various equipment and systems to locate, pick, pack, and prepare items for distribution. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount in this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented setting. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves according to order tickets.
- Pack products securely and efficiently for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Verify order accuracy before packing and dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Assist with receiving and stocking incoming inventory.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding order status and any issues.
- Meet or exceed picking and packing performance standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or fulfillment environment preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
