*Role Overview*
As a GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) Process Applications Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical authority for advanced welding technologies. This high-impact role acts as the bridge between R&D and Manufacturing, focusing on developing, qualifying, and scaling complex stainless steel welding processes. You will lead technical strategy, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the manufacturability of innovative client designs.
*Key Responsibilities*
* *Technical Leadership & Strategy:* Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GTAW and automated orbital welding systems. Lead the selection, integration, and optimization of power supplies, welding techniques, and custom fixturing.
* *Process Development & Validation:* Design, develop, and validate weld procedures (WPS) and parameters (PQR) to meet stringent industry standards and customer specifications.
* *Manufacturing Integration:* Transition R&D concepts into scalable, high-volume production environments. Manage the qualification of new equipment and processes on the shop floor.
* *Cross-Functional Collaboration:* Partner with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to manage root-cause analysis (RCA) and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Six Sigma/Lean) to enhance weld quality and throughput.
* *Client Engagement:* Act as a technical consultant for customers, providing expert feedback on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and offering specialized weld design recommendations.
*Required Qualifications*
* *Experience:* Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
* *Technical Expertise:* Strong background in *automated orbital welding systems* and associated power supplies.
* *Material Proficiency:* Extensive experience working with *stainless steel* and high-performance alloys.
* *Analytical Skills:* Proven ability to lead root-cause investigations and process troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting.
* *Communication:* Ability to interface professionally with external clients and internal production teams.
*Preferred Skills*
* Experience in a Contract Manufacturing (CMO) environment.
* Knowledge of weld validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) within regulated industries (e.g., Medical Device, Aerospace, or Semiconductor).
* Familiarity with CAD software for fixture design.
* AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) status.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
