We are hiring a Material Handler to support our busy distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods, operating material handling equipment, and assisting with inventory management tasks. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, have a strong understanding of warehouse Safety, and be a reliable team player. Your contributions are vital to the seamless operation of our logistics processes.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Assist with stocking, order picking, and packing operations.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure proper handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety protocols and company policies.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with record-keeping.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts.
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Knowledge of general logistics and supply chain operations.
- Ability to work independently and as a cooperative team member.
- Excellent attention to detail and reliability.
- Must be willing to wear appropriate PPE.
- Good communication skills.
