We are hiring an experienced Reach Truck Operator for our busy distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. This specialized role is crucial for our inventory management and order fulfillment processes, requiring proficiency in operating reach trucks to store and retrieve goods at various heights. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within the warehouse, contributing to a well-organized and productive environment. This position demands precision, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and an unwavering commitment to Safety . We provide all necessary PPE and ensure that equipment is well-maintained. The role involves significant responsibility and requires the ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting and precise maneuvering as part of our critical Logistics chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve products in high-density racking systems.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance checks on reach trucks, reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and procedures, including proper use of PPE .
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, supporting team objectives.
- Contribute to a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement within the Logistics operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds, and working at elevated heights.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and racking systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace Safety and proper PPE usage.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical capability for tasks involving manual dexterity and occasional Lifting .
- Experience in a fast-paced Logistics setting is highly desirable.
