Senior Applications Developer Boston, MA Hybrid – 3 days onsite (flexible schedule) $150,000–$200,000 Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and energetic Senior Applications Developer to lead the design, development, and evolution of proprietary business applications and system architecture. This is a high-impact role responsible for the full application lifecycle—from ideation and design to implementation, maintenance, and production support. You will partner closely with IT and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions that support critical operations. This role involves exposure to confidential information and requires the highest level of integrity and discretion. What You’ll Do Lead design, development, and maintenance of in-house business applications Architect and support complex data processing and database systems Manage multiple software projects simultaneously, including scope, schedules, and priorities Collaborate with business and technical teams to define and deliver solutions Identify and implement process and technical improvements to enhance efficiency and security Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development staff Ensure strong data security and compliance in application design Establish development standards, testing methodologies, and best practices Conduct system reviews, design walkthroughs, and code reviews Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools Stay current on industry trends, including AI applications Prepare status reports and updates for senior leadership Technology Environment (Current Stack) .NET Framework Visual Studio WinForms / WPF ASP.NET Web Forms JavaScript / jQuery SQL Server SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) Microsoft Office Nice to Have: SharePoint, O365, Microsoft Graph, AI integrations (cloud or on-prem), SFTP, Reporting Services, DevCraft (Progress), Nintex Workflow, Task Factory (SolarWinds) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field 10–15 years of data processing experience 5+ years in application development Strong design, programming, and technical leadership experience Proven ability to manage projects and guide teams Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset Experience in property & casualty insurance is highly preferred Compensation & Benefits We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Health, dental, and life insurance 401(k) plan Cash Balance Plan Flexible Spending Accounts Educational assistance
