Our Charlotte, North Carolina facility is looking for a proactive Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse stock. This vital role ensures that we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time, optimizing our logistics and supply chain operations. Responsibilities include conducting regular cycle counts, performing full physical inventories, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and updating inventory records in our system. You will collaborate closely with warehouse supervisors, material handlers, and shipping/receiving staff to maintain data integrity. The Inventory Control Specialist will also analyze inventory data to identify trends, reduce shrinkage, and improve overall efficiency. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in inventory management software are essential. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting practices, is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct cycle counts and full physical inventories
- Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Generate inventory reports and analyze data for trends and insights
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure inventory accuracy
- Develop and implement procedures to improve inventory control
- Monitor stock rotation (e.g., FIFO) and identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
This role is critical for maintaining efficient logistics operations through precise inventory management. A thorough understanding of safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting techniques, is expected of all team members.
