Position Summary Join us in shaping the future with Project Sparky, our cutting-edge AI-powered chat assistant designed for both iOS and Android platforms. This innovative application simplifies daily shopping tasks like ordering groceries and scheduling car services by personalizing assistance based on user preferences and past interactions. With a foundation in generative AI, we are moving towards creating agentic AI that adapts to user behavior. We are on the lookout for a talented and experienced engineer well-versed in mobile architecture across iOS and Android. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing intelligent, real-time mobile experiences and a collaborative spirit, working alongside AI/ML, backend, and product teams. A commitment to performance, accessibility, and security is crucial in this role. Your Responsibilities: Lead the discovery phase of large Mobile Engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project strategies, develop prototypes, and validate concepts. Work closely with service teams to ensure effective end-to-end architecture for reusable mobile widgets consumed by various Walmart Mobile Products. Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices, performing root cause analyses and formulating action plans to resolve issues. Guide project teams in Mobile Engineering, providing direction on project plans, identifying solutions for roadblocks, and reviewing designs and code. Innovate mobile technology solutions aligning with business objectives; benchmark against industry best practices to drive high-priority initiatives. Oversee medium to large-scale, complex cross-functional projects, translating requirements into mobile solutions across operating systems. Drive the execution of business plans by identifying customer needs, developing action plans, and ensuring performance measures are met. Support the development of associates through training, mentoring, and fostering a team-oriented work environment. Promote company values and ensure compliance with policies, contributing to a culture of integrity. Evaluate the effectiveness of current plans and initiatives and support community outreach efforts. Your Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. 20+ years of experience in Software Engineering. 15+ years of experience in product development for Mobile platforms. 15+ years of experience in iOS and Android development. 10+ years of programming experience in Swift and Kotlin. 5+ years collaborating with AI/ML teams. Deep understanding of Mobile App Development. Experience in integrating with RESTful Back End services. Proficient in managing large codebases and executing major projects. Experience mentoring and influencing engineers across the organization. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing Rich Media Content or Conversational Applications. Background in Game Design, 3D modeling, or OpenGL.
