Your Mission:

As a Senior Product Compliance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety throughout the product design process. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Participating in Daily Stand-Up Meetings (DSUM) to keep the team aligned.
  • Engaging in design activities focused on risk reduction and analysis.
  • Applying a systems engineering approach to safety products using a centralized modeling tool.
  • Collaborating within a small safety team environment.
  • Guiding non-safety experienced team members to achieve optimal safety outcomes.
  • Preparing safety assessments to support system design and development.
  • Contributing to Design Safety Justification inputs.
  • Providing Safety Subject Matter Expertise (SME) during product design and gate reviews.
  • Fostering a healthy product Safety Culture within the team and the wider business.
Your Skills and Experience:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A STEM degree, ideally with experience in Product Safety within a regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with UK Defence Standards and publications such as Defence Standard 00-56, Defence Standard 00-55, DSA-01, DSA-02.
  • Knowledge of safety analysis techniques like FHA, FTA, ETA, FMEA, and STPA.
  • An understanding of IEC 61508 and/or IEC 61511 principles for complex Software and Hardware Safety Instrumented Systems.

About the Safety Environmental Team:

In this role, you will focus on safety during the product design process, conducting analysis and providing valuable insights to Principal Engineers to enhance designs. We also offer relocation support packages for eligible candidates across all Submarines roles.
