CDL Dump Truck Driver (Local) – Growth Opportunity

Starting Pay

$25–$30 per hour, based on experience and responsibility

• $25/hr – newer CDL drivers with dump truck experience
• Up to $30/hr – experienced drivers with mechanical knowledge and leadership mindset.

Job Description:

Nxt Gen Excavating & Trucking is looking for a motivated CDL Dump Truck Driver to grow with us, not just fill a seat.

We currently operate two dump trucks and are expanding. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the first drivers in our trucking division and help shape how it grows. We hold a high standard for our equipment, professionalism, and work ethic — spotless trucks, accountability, and pride in what we run.

This position is local, home daily, and tied directly to our excavation and sitework operations. We are not just a trucking company, and we do not rely solely on outside hauling. We stay busy on our own projects year-round.

Equipment

• 2018 Kenworth T800
• Automatic transmission
• Well-maintained, clean, professional-looking truck

(We take pride in our equipment — drivers are expected to do the same.)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate dump truck hauling dirt, rock, gravel, asphalt, and materials
• Keep truck clean, organized, and presentable at all times
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Follow DOT and company safety standards
• Use phone and modern software for:
• Dispatch instructions
• Load tracking
• Communication
• Assist with on-site tasks when needed
• Represent NXT GEN professionally on job sites and in public

Pay Structure Expectations

• $25/hr drivers:
• Solid driving skills
• Willing to learn
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• $30/hr drivers (or requesting top pay):

We expect more responsibility, including:

• Mechanical knowledge (brakes, pads, minor repairs, troubleshooting)
• Willingness to help with fleet maintenance
• Leadership mindset
• Ability to eventually assist with dispatching and coordination

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A or B (Class A preferred)
• Dump truck or construction hauling experience preferred
• Comfortable with smartphones and modern technology (required)
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Clean or reasonably clean MVR
• Reliable, motivated, and accountable

Work Expectations

• Full work weeks expected
• If hauling slows down, there is always work available
• We stay busy through our own excavation, sitework, and utility projects
