Seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our busy facility in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will play a key part in our Logistics operations by ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. Your duties will involve picking and packing orders, verifying shipment details, preparing documentation, and coordinating with shipping carriers. Maintaining an organized and safe shipping area is crucial. We are committed to a high standard of workplace Safety , and all employees are required to use the appropriate PPE . This position requires physical stamina, as you will be involved in considerable Lifting and moving of packages, potentially up to 50 lbs. You will work within a team environment, collaborating to meet deadlines and customer expectations. Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and verifying order accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation for various carriers.
- Stage finished orders in the designated outbound area for carrier pickup.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shipping department and equipment.
- Track shipments and update inventory and order status in the system.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and carriers regarding shipment status.
- Operate pallet jacks and other shipping equipment safely.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the shipping operations.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, order fulfillment, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to upholding Logistics standards and company procedures.
- Must understand and follow all Safety guidelines and wear required PPE .
