We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring all outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. You will work closely with our warehouse and logistics departments to streamline the shipping process and contribute to the overall success of our supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery. You will be trained on our various shipping software and carrier procedures to become a valuable asset to our team.
Responsibilities:
- Verify and document outgoing shipments against orders and packing slips.
- Prepare shipping labels and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Coordinate with carriers for shipment pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area, ensuring all materials are readily accessible.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Monitor inventory of shipping supplies and reorder as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth flow of logistics.
- Report any discrepancies or damages immediately to the supervisor.
- Uphold a strong commitment to safety and efficient warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is preferred but not required. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate Lifting. Basic computer skills are necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are highly valued. Understanding of logistics principles is a plus. Must be reliable and punctual. Commitment to workplace Safety is a must.
