This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring materials are transported efficiently and safely. Your role will ensure that materials are ready for various stages of the warehouse process.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Operate powered industrial trucks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification required/provided).
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Prepare materials for shipment or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to company standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Inspect equipment before use to ensure it is in good working order.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification to operate forklifts and other relevant equipment is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is beneficial.
