We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our Atlanta, Georgia warehouse operations. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all shipments are received accurately, documented properly, and integrated seamlessly into our inventory system. Your responsibilities will include verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting items for damage, and preparing them for storage or distribution. This position is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting our overall logistics efficiency. A strong emphasis is placed on adhering to all safety regulations and utilizing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE ). This role involves some moderate Lifting and requires individuals who are organized, diligent, and possess excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify received items against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Inspect all goods for damage or defects upon arrival.
- Accurately record received inventory into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and prepare items for stocking or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Properly wear and use all required PPE .
- Communicate any discrepancies or delivery issues to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory checks and stocktaking as required.
- Perform tasks involving moderate Lifting and manual handling of received goods.
- Contribute to the smooth flow of goods within our logistics network.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or general labor role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Comfortable performing tasks involving moderate Lifting .
- Proficiency in using and wearing required PPE .
- Basic knowledge of logistics and inventory control concepts.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
