Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics operations in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes. You will identify and investigate discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and contribute to improving overall inventory management procedures. This position requires a meticulous approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of warehouse inventory systems and best practices. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our logistics operations and the satisfaction of our customers. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of PPE is mandatory. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Implement and improve inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product freshness/shelf life.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff on receiving, put-away, and picking processes to minimize errors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
  • Prepare inventory reports for management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE in a warehouse setting.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs as needed for audits.
