Our Washington, D.C. facility is seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join our dedicated logistics team. This position requires individuals with proven experience in operating forklifts safely and efficiently within a busy warehouse environment. You will be responsible for moving, loading, unloading, and stacking a wide variety of materials and products. Key aspects of this role include ensuring operational Safety, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with other warehouse personnel to optimize workflow. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong commitment to Safety regulations, and the ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including regular Lifting. Your proficiency is vital to our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, lift, and position inventory and materials.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods to and from various locations within the warehouse, including racking systems.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance checks on forklift equipment.
- Report any equipment issues or safety hazards immediately to supervision.
- Assist with the receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in operating areas.
- Follow all warehouse Safety procedures and guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and operational standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Proficiency with various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with general logistics and supply chain operations.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team.
- Must be willing to wear appropriate PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
