THE JOB:
The Dock / Mailroom Supervisor oversees all dock and mailroom operations to ensure freight and mail are loaded, unloaded, stored, and distributed in a timely, accurate, and organized manner. This role ensures resources are used safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with MGMRI standards, departmental policies, and safety requirements. The position plays a key role in coordinating dock labor, vendor services, equipment readiness, and day-to-day operational flow across multiple facility areas and requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Supervise daily activities across the dock facility, mailroom, marshalling yard, pylon sign lot, and associated operational areas
Coordinate and schedule outside vendors
Create requisitions and complete purchase orders for vendor services
Oversee staging, inspections, cleaning, and servicing of powered equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and motorized carts
Schedule equipment repairs and maintenance as needed
Ensure contractors, drivers, and outside personnel comply with safety and departmental standards
Promote safe handling, loading, storage, and transport of hazardous materials
Plan and allocate daily resources to maintain consistent and efficient operations
Deliver, receive, and distribute mail and supplies throughout the facility
Maintain operational logs and complete administrative documentation
Ensure dock areas and equipment remain clean, organized, and orderly
Operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, skyjacks, scissor lifts) as needed
Maintain constant awareness of safety and accident prevention
Assist with ordering, tracking, and logging inventory
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High School Diploma or GED required
2+ years of prior relevant warehouse experience required
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Experience supporting dock and/or mailroom operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Experience coordinating vendors and scheduling services (trash, recycling, equipment servicing, deliveries)
Working knowledge of safety standards, accident prevention, and hazardous material handling
Experience overseeing and/or operating powered equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, motorized carts)
Ability to plan resources, prioritize tasks, and support daily operational needs
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and operate effectively in a team environment
Basic computer proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience working in a similar arena or large venue environment preferred
Bilingual (English as a primary or secondary language) preferred
